We are a group of ordinary citizens and tax payers appealing to the Bureau of Internal Revenue to look into the tax evasion being perpetrated by Cosmetique Asia Silka Papaya.

Even before we get our salaries, a huge chunk of it gets deducted.  Money is being taken from us every 15th and 30th of the month, money which would have otherwise gone to providing our families with more food, a better home, education, health services, and other necessities.

This goes to funding the various government programs and projects, most of which end up benefiting the poor -- who pay little or no income tax but are the main target beneficiaries of low cost housing, free education, conditional cash transfers, and all manner of freebies.

On the other hand, the owners of huge companies get away with tax evasion -- by cooking their books and paying off tax examiners.  They pad their company's expenses, doctor receipts, and exploit loopholes in order to support their lavish lifestyles at the expense of so many honest tax payers.

We believe this is unjust and we believe it is something that must be fought.

We are committed to exposing Cosmetique Asia and Silka Papaya, calling on the Aquino Administration to investigate and file the appropriate charges against this company.
